Best Italian dishes in KL - La Scala Italian Restaurant & Lounge Bar

I'm so happy to revisit the La Scala Italian Restaurant & Lounge Bar. I was very impressed with their delectable dishes, cozy environment and great service last time!

The La Scala has two part : Restaurant and Lounge bar. The restaurant at 1st floor provides pork-free food, which is suitable for couples dining or business dining. As for the Lounge bar, which is located at 2nd floor, is belong to a open style rooftop Lounge bar. It serves Non-Halal food with reasonable price, good for night out with friends.

The following photo are taken from the restaurant part (1F)

If you want to have your own dining place, they have two private rooms.

Next, I would like to introduce their new Executive Chef - Emil Sassolini, an outstanding chef who do the good job, so that I can have an awesome meal tonight.

Executive Chef - Emil Sassolini

Amouse Bouche
Burrata cheese topped with fresh cucumber and tomato, a healthy starter.

Complimentary bread (Ciabatta, Grissini bread)

Insalata Vitamina (V)
Mixed salad Songino leaves with sliced green apple, orange wedges, toasted pumpkin seeds and balsamic reduction. A simple and fresh salad for the healthy concept.

Capesante con Crema di Tartufo Bianco Parmigiano Reggiano e Nocciole tostate alla menta
Roasted "Hokkaido Bay" scallops with truffle dressing, parmigiano reggiano, mint roasted hazelnuts. What a awesome scallop that I have tried! With the tangy odor and beautiful decoration, the scallop is moist and tender. The chef chooses the truffle from Alba which is the best place can get black truffle in Italy. It's scrumptious, highly recommended!

Crespelle
Oven baked crepes with prawns ragout, garnished with cheese fondue tomato based sauce. One of my favorite dish! When I see the baked crepes, it reminds me of egg pancake in Taiwan. The crepes are nice with cheesy prawns. Most part of the crepes is soft, but the top of crepes is crispy and fragrant. Love it so much, you can't miss it!

Gnocchi Noci, Gorgonzola e Rucola
Homemade potatoes Gnocchi with Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and wild rocket. Gnocchi, a traditional Italian food, is made from ordinary wheat flour, egg, cheese, and potato. The cream-colored one is made of potato, and the purple one is made of beetroot.

Parmesan Cheese Plate
Parmesan cheese is a type of hard cheese inspired by Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese from Parma, Italy. It is popularly used as a seasoning to add with salad, pizza, and spaghetti.

Risotto Zafferano Asparagi e Foglie d'Oro
Carnaroli rice with butter, saffron, asparagus and 24k gold leaves. Carnaroli rice is a high quality rice in Italy. The creamy rice tastes soft but chewy, topped with shiny 24k gold leaves. This dish really gives my stomach a satiety.

Costolette di Agnello con salsa di Melograno
Black and white crusted sesame seeds lamb chops with pomegranate sauce. A fascinating main course with tangy smell, it does increase my appetite. The lamb is still moist and hot inside, quite succulent and fresh. Black and white sesame seeds can increase the flavor of lamb. Thumb up!

Tris di Ricotta Mousse "La Scala"
It is the chef special dessert. He use Ricotta whipping cream, sugar, and cheese to make the mousse. The left one is strawberry mousse with black milk chocolate, the middle one is vanilla mousse with dark chocolate, and the right one is hazelnut mousse with white milk chocolate. I would prefer the strawberry mousse, because I like the sweet and sour tastes, not greasy at all.

La Scala restaurant manager - Gianfranco Lisi, says they will invite a live band which is from French on 18 Apr 2015. It sounds great and will be a wonderful night on that day! To reserve the table, you can book online via TABLEAPP.
