Shook! Christmas & New Year's Eve Dinner @ Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang

Shook! is located at lower ground of Starhill Gallery. What I can say about the Shook's dining space is "Very Big"! Shook! is a popular high-end restaurant at Malaysia. It is the best place to enjoy fine food and live music at the same time. In fact, I am really excited to visit it for my first time!


A pioneer in open-kitchen concept in Malaysia! The open kitchen allows curious customers to peep on master chefs displaying their talents. Ii is a great concept! Shook! features the skills of 4 epicurean chefs with 4 distinct cuisines in one sophisticated destination with unique "Kasbah" seats in the centre. They have Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Western cuisines.

Shook! has a world class ambience with live Jazz band performances. I feel comfortable and delightful to have dinner here. I'm so lucky that I can try the Christmas & New Year's Eve Dinner in one shot tonight. What a great thing~~so Happy~~

Duo of Gratinated Oyster with Champagne Sabayon 

I am surprised by this appetizer. It is fantastic yummy! Gartinated oyster with champagne sabayon, and the soft crab meat & wasabi aioli on smoked salmon. It's a perfect combination. The oyster is definitely fresh and juicy. This is the best oyster that I have tried. The salmon is fragrant and tender. I can't stop to eat it because it is too delicious! The texture of the crab meat is soft. I love this appetizer.

New England Clam Chowder

A clam chowder soup garnished with a truffle flavored ginger muffin. I like the dense chowder with fresh clam. It smell fragrant and tastes good. The muffin is crispy and nice.


Passion Fruit Sorbet 

Before tasting the main dish, they serve the sorbet to clean my taste buds. I love this sorbet. It's rich of passion fruit flavor and properly sweet. 


  Traditional Roast Turkey Roulade with a Chestnut Stuffing

It serves with cinnamon apple chutney, roasted pumpkin, glazed baby carrots, brussel sprouts and turkey jus. The roast turkey is properly cooked. The skin of the turkey is crispy and the meat is tender and succulent. What a nice turkey dish! I also like the baby carrot, because it tastes sweetXD


 Oven Baked Australian Beef Tenderloin

It accompanied with glazed baby vegetables, potato, and porcini jus. Steak - one of my favorite dish, I am very looking forward to it. The muscle of tenderloin part does very little work, so it is the tenderest part of the beef. The beef is tender and juicy, without any difficult chewing strip. Good!


The next dish is dessert - A selection of artisan pastries from their festive dessert buffet. The festive dessert buffet is only available on that day, so I will skip the dessert here. This is the end of the Christmas Eve Dinner, the following is the New Year's Eve Dinner!

Salmon and Tuna Tartar

Garnished with diced Japanese cucumber with a lemongrass and mint flavoured gazpacho. Both salmon and tuna are my favorite meat, makes them to the cylinder tart, and topped one piece of crispy bread. It tastes fresh and mild spicy.

Traditional Beef Consomme

Garnished with braised oxtail panna cotta layered with edamame bean puree. It's a clear beef soup, the braised oxtail is crispy and fragrant. I'm surprised by the layered panna cotta with edamame bean puree. It tastes soft and nice.


Lime Sorbet

With grape, ginger, and preserved plum. The sorbet is rich in lime flavor, and tastes sour and sweet. I think it can not only clean the taste buds but also can stimulate my appetite.


Pan Seared Australian Barramundi

With squid ink tagliolini in a rich lobster bouillon. This dish is fabulous! The Australian barramundi is fresh and well-cooked, the texture is tender. The tagliolini is really strong with squid ink, immersed with lobster bouillon, what a perfect dish!


Grilled Loin of Lamb

Garnished with asparagus tips, morel dumplings, saffron potato, gorgonzola tortellini with a truffle reduction. When I see it, I thought it is beef. Because it don't have any offensive smell of mutton and the texture is succulent! The lamb is prepared medium, tastes soft and juicy.

Next dish - A selection of artisan pastries from their festive dessert buffet. The festive dessert buffet is only available on that day. The dessert must be yummy!

 Merry Christmas is coming! Celebrate the magic of Christmas on the 24th of December with Shook!'s Christmas Eve Dinner. It is definitely a good choice to celebrate Christmas or New Year at Shook! I have an unforgettable night to enjoy their food and ambience.
