Michelin Star Chef - Masahiko Yomoda @ Ten Japanese Fine Dining, Kuala Lumpur

In the bustling city center of Kuala Lumpur, there is a fine dining restaurant - Ten Japanese Fine Dining. In Japanese, "TEN" stand for heaven. A name that opportunely describes the exclusive fine dining experience reserve for the select few. Indulge in the cozy and charming ambiance, set amidst a modern environment. The beauty of Ten is a feast to admire and a supreme dining experience to delight the senses.










They have the good news to announce recently, that is Michelin Star Chef - Masahiko Yomoda is working at Ten Japanese Fine Dining! He is a Japanese, working as a French cuisine chef over 18 years at L’OSIER, Taillevent Robuchon etc... Then he went back to Japan to work as a  head chef at Arbace restaurant for 2 years, at that time he won one star at Michelin Tokyo in 2008. After that he worked as an executive chef at Galileo, Orient Express Hotel Australia for 3 years, and got one hat at Good food guide in Australia in
2010.

Undoubtedly, Mr. Yomoda is an outstanding chef. He is not only a Michelin Star Chef, but also win the awards of 3 hats in Blancharu Restaurant, Goult et Millau, and Australia restaurant. I'm so lucky that have the chance to try the Omakase Set. Omakase (お任せ) is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it to you", so all the food is up to the chef. Let's go through these fascinating dishes!

First, let's look at the ambiance. Their environment is really grand and beautiful. I like their interior design.








The following are the dishes of Omakase Set.


Amuse - Chawan Mushi

With pretty decoration, there are chicken, prawn, unagi and ginko together with steamed egg. The steamed egg is so tender that melts in my mouth suddenly.



Entree -Zuke Salad with Yuzu Rice Espouma

Wow! The plate is very beautiful. If you look at it seriously, you can find that there are two butterflies made by carrot on the sashimi. It serves with salmon, tuna, halibut and Yuzu Rice Espouma. The sashimi is really fresh and tender, and it's great to go with Sake. Yuzu Rice Espouma is made by rice milk emulsion, yuzu sauce, and hazelnut oil. It tastes a bit sour but can reveal the sweetness of the sashimi.


Fish - Jew Fish Kataiffi Japanese OOBA Sauce

Soft white fish wrapped with crunchy Kataiffi, then topped with Alfalfa sprouts and Parmesan cheese powder. The green OOBA sauce is composed of Japanese Basil leaves, potato, olive oil, scallop mousse and lemon juice. The sauce can enhance the tastes of the fish, let it be more flavourful and fresh! I like it!



Main - Roasted Duck with Dukka, Sauce Madere

Roasted duck breast garnished with burdock, purple carrot, mushroom, and Madere sauce. The chef chose the high quality duck breast, cooked it carefully and put the hazelnut, sea salt, coriander, miso sauce on it. What a appealing dish! The duck tastes juicy and tender, if you dip with some Madere sauce will be more perfect! The fragrant Madere sauce is made by Madere wine, butter and beef stock. It can increase the flavour of the duck. Yummy~~Highly recommend it!      



Shokuji - Inaniwa Udon Ten Style

Inaniwa udon is more thin udon from Akita, garnished with seaweed, and spin onion. The udon is immersed in Dashi soup which is made by fish. It tastes soft and smooth.


Dessert - Kurogoma Blanc Monger, Mango & Milk Ice Cream

Kurogoma Blanc Monger is black sesame pudding, which is under the mango syrup layer. The texture of the pudding is soft and meticulous, with strong black sesame taste. I like it so much! The yellow layer is composed of passion fruit, mango, and mango syrup. On the top is milk ice cream with raspberry sauce. What a perfect combination dessert. It is really yummy and is the best dessert that I have tried! Highly recommend! 

It's my first time to try the food which is made by Michelin Star Chef. I am very satisfied with the Omakase Set, with the high quality service and comfortable dining ambience. This is really a great enjoyment of my life. The original price for Omakase Set is RM371, but you can have the promotion price only for RM200 via TABLEAPP.
